Hope Partnership works in communities
Hope Partnership considers all of its work to be an outreach of the Church of Jesus Christ. The missionaries believe that it’s their responsibility to minister to the community at large, not just members of the local congregations in Nairobi. Nearly all of Hope’s work is directed toward the community, because in Africa, the most effective, long-lasting changes occur at that level. The community must also take ownership of any initiative in order for it to be successful.

As community committees are trained in Community Health Evangelism  programs, they begin to come up with projects to meet needs in their own neighborhoods. For example, the committee in Kayole identified the need for clean drinking water as a problem to be solved. They have land given to them by local government officials to build a water tank. CMF helped the group with some funds to fence and secure the donated plot. Now the group is fund-raising on its own to build the water tank. They’ll sell the water and use the money to fund other projects.

Read an exciting story about a community that worked together to solve another small problem that made a huge difference in their daily lives.
